Every woman wants to feel comfortable in her clothes, it’s the same when you are pregnant – if not more so. Before you begin to look for pregnancy clothes, make sure you have a good bra. Support for your bust is essential. When you are purchasing a bra near the end of your pregnancy, you might want to consider purchasing a nursing bra to save on the cost of purchasing both. Get fitted for your bra, to be sure you have the correct size.
In the early stages of your pregnancy, you will probably get away with wearing your regular clothes. When your baby begins to grow, you will go through a stage when you are still too small to wear maternity clothes but your regular clothes won’t be able to zip up or button close. A good investment at this time is black stretchy leggings or drawstring skirts and trousers. Before you purchase any items, call on friends and family members to see if anyone has any of their maternity
clothes to pass on. You might not necessarily like what you get, but keep them until after the baby is born because what you don’t like now might just be what you need in the final few weeks of your pregnancy. When your pregnancy is over you can return them or pass them on to someone else.
Your footwear is another thing you shouldn’t overlook. Your feet will swell during your pregnancy. Invest in a pair of slip-ons. These are comfortable and will make your life easier when you are finding it more difficult to bend down. It will take the pressure off having your feet squeezed into your regular shoes that now feel too small.
You’ll find a variety of different maternity clothes on the market, you might not feel like wearing anything too outrageous, so stick to simple classic items. You can always brighten up an outfit with a bold coloured or sparkly scarf. Purchasing accessories won’t be a waste of money, as you can still wear these post pregnancy.
