We all want to look and feel good and this is probably even more so for a women who has recently given birth. We want to know how to get rid of fat after having a baby. The lack of sleep, we will more than likely experience, and the lack of energy don’t make it any easier to shift those pounds!
Firstly, you will need to exercise. A great way is to start walking. You can take your baby in a stroller and choose routes with a bit of an incline to burn more calories. The fresh air will be great for you and baby. Exercise is a good way to lift your mood too! You can increase the distance you go as your fitness improves. If you don’t want to walk alone, ask your partner or a friend to join you. Another idea is to put an advertisement in your local paper. There will more than likely be other new mothers in your neighbourhood that are in the same position as you are. This is a great way to make new friends and you’ll have other mothers to share your experiences with.
What you eat and drink and how much you eat and drink is also very important. Try to eat a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. Allow yourself a treat every now and then too. Drinking water will help in your fight against fat. Try to drink around 2 litres of water each day.
If you opt to breastfeed your baby, it will more than likely help you lose excess fat. A woman uses approximately 500 calories in this way. It’s a good natural way to burn off extra calories. Losing those last few pounds might be a little harder while you are still breastfeeding as your body needs to hold on to a little extra fat for energy.
Remember that fat loss does not happen over night! You will have to work at it so give yourself time.
