New moms and dads to be are often curious as what their new born baby will look like a question they often want the answer to is it possible to predict hair and eye color of baby. The answer is quite complicated it isn’t an exact science there are no % 100 correct predictions. One school of thought is quite simple and practical it determines that that if two brown eyed parents have a baby there is a 75% chance their baby will have brown eyes with 19% green and 6% brown, equally if two green eyed parents have a baby there is a 75% chance of the baby having green eyes where the percentages change are if two blue eyed parents have a baby then theirs a 99% chance of them having a blue eyed baby with 1% green.

Blue and brown eyed parent have equal chances of having either a blue or brown eyed baby, however some geneticists will dispute this saying that the brown gene is always predominant. Most parents will be very curious as to what their new born will look like it is natural to be curious but to be able to predict hair and eye color of baby is difficult. Hair is similar to eye colour to predict as with eye colour if two parents have dark hair
the chances of them having a baby with dark hair colouring is significantly higher. Likewise if there are two blonde blue eyed parents ten you could almost put money on them having a beautiful blonde haired blue eyed baby?. There is a more technical approach to the question how do I predict the hair and eye colour of baby the answer is with science. Eye colour is determined by two pigments black and yellow called melanin.

If you have no melanin in the front of eye (iris) then you will have blue eyes. A large proportion of melanin in the eye in combination with the black results in different shades of brown and blue (green). It is the genetic make up of 4 genes that are needed to make up brown eyes any deviance from the pathway results in blue eyes. Mom and dad have two copies of each gene and if either parent passed on the brown eyed gene it will be more dominant. Another reason for eye colouring is our gene pool with the swapping of chromosomes between mom and dad or the recombination as it is called during conception. There are many factors to predict hair and eye color of baby hereditary factors comes into play also. The fun part of bringing a new life into the world is guessing and wondering what the new life will look like.
